Here at Red Sky Dog Training we value the relationships created through the care of your dog. We recognize every dog as an individual as they are participating in training, daycare, or boarding with us. From the moment you walk through our door, you are considered part of the Red Sky Dog Training family! We want to see you and your dog succeed just as much as you do and this shows through ongoing support.
Meet your trainer.
A Michigan native, Grace grew up loving animals and started working in the dog industry in 2013. Starting as a kennel tech and doggie daycare assistant, she later became fascinated with the art of dog training.
This fascination led her on an incredible journey receiving multiple certifications from leaders in the industry, holding the position of “Training Director” in two large kennel facilities, and even moving to Florida for four years in pursuit of gaining more knowledge in the world of dog training. Over her years in the industry she has gained experience working with dogs of all ages, breeds, and has tackled even the most difficult of behavior cases. She also has experience training and handling personal protection dogs for clients worldwide and has also competed at the National level in IGP with her personal dog Coco.
In 2024 Grace decided to make the jump, move back to her hometown of Hudsonville, and dive head first into owning her own business, Red Sky Dog Training. With her multi-faceted experience, her goal is to share her knowledge with her clients through flexible training plans and also just in general dog ownership! Having owned many dogs in her life, she has experienced a lot in training, diets, and veterinary care, leading her to have a great team of references from nutritionists, to veterinary specialists, to holistic vets.
When she is not caring for your pet, Grace spends her time training and hiking with her dogs and cat: Coco (Belgian Malinois), Ori (Chihuahua), Freya (Chihuahua mix), and Cheswick (Domestic Shorthair). She also enjoys fishing with her boyfriend Brian.

Training

This is a go to for any owner interested in receiving one-on-one coaching with their dog.
Each lesson is custom made for each dog on simple training concepts. These sessions can be done in-home (additional charge for locations outside of 30 mile radius) or at our facility in Hudsonville.
For an hour lesson you will receive coaching, get a chance to practice, and will receive homework on things to practice between sessions!
Schedule sessions as needed or commit to sessions on a schedule that works with you!

This is the perfect option for dogs who would benefit from a more fully immersive program or for owners who would like their dog trained while they are away.
Let us make a unique plan to conquer you and your dog’s goals!
This is a completely customizable program for your dog. While they are with us they will not only be learning their basic obedience and manners, they will have a program as individualized as they are. We can cover anything from walking on a loose leash to concerning behaviors such as aggression.
Enjoy the peace of mind that your dog is learning every day while staying in the comfort of our state-of-the-art facility at night.
This program includes one go home lesson at our facility at the completion of the program as well as follow up lessons that can be scheduled anytime as in home lessons, lessons at our facility, or lessons off the property at a local place (park, hiking trail, etc.)
If the thought of leaving your dog for an extended period of time doesn’t sound appealing to you, but believe your dog could benefit from a board and train style program, ask about creating a flexible, hybrid plan!

Just drop your dog off for the day and we will spend the day playing and training, then pick up at the end of the day and enjoy having your dog back home for the night.

This service is only available as an additional perk for dogs who have already been through training with us.
Play is the name of the game with our daycare! We recognize that size, age, energy level, and play style all play a roll in which dog personalities are compatible with each other. This is why we keep our numbers low with our small play groups as this gives each dog an opportunity to have an enriching day playing with their friends without feeling too overwhelmed.
Every day is a little bit different and besides dog-to-dog play time, we sometimes also include:
